Home, Scorching Home...

Hi, all:

Well, we arrived safely back in Kuwait late on the 25th, back to 45-degree temperatures (with high humidity, even), and back to our own bed.

...and back to reality, as well. We're in gear-up-for-classes mode, planning and meeting every day for our first day, September 2. Busy, busy, but it keeps us out of trouble!

We've posted a few photos from our summer shenanigans below. Enjoy!

Hanging with R's brother Ryan... he's single too, ladies (sorry, Ry!)... Posted by Picasa
Brent and the nice little (15", 2.5lb) largemouth bass he caught at Jordan Lake, August 2006. A Drempel record, we think... tasted good too! Posted by Picasa

Brent, Cher, and Rosalee. Brent was cold... one's blood thins after living in 45-degree temps!

Brent using newly-learned sandcastle-building techniques on Sauble Beach. Thanks, Dad V, for the Cottage Life magazine you gave us to read--very helpful indeed! Posted by Picasa
Some more of Brent's red pine trees along Hwy. 17. They are each about eight feet tall now... they grow up so fast, don't they...? *sniff* Posted by Picasa
B&R drove out west to Winnipeg to hang out with Russell Roth and Cher Martin. Along the way, Brent was able to visit some of the red pine trees (behind him) he planted back in '95 near Upsala, Ontario. He planted a few thousand of them in a clear-cut along the Trans-Canada during his tree-planting days, and they seemed to be doing fine. Posted by Picasa

Fastest seven weeks ever...

Seven weeks? Really?!

Wow, it sure seems a much shorter time... I guess with all that family, friends, and fun, the ol' clock has a way of whirling itself into new speeds. We're currently at the family cottage, relaxing with B's side of the fam before flying out on the 24th.

It's been hectic and awesome and we've seen so many folks; however, we weren't able to connect with everyone, so if you fall into that category, we apologize.

Our next update will likely be from Kuwait where, although we're going to miss everone, we will be enjoying sleeping in our own bed in our own space.

Thanks, everyone, for making this such a fun summer!

Love y'all,

B&R
