Hunting down the elusive tree

This year, our friends Dave, Molly and Alistair invited us to go tree hunting at a farm. If you think it's hard to pick a tree at Loblaws, this is even tougher!
Alistair came well prepared with his own chain saw.
Here is the tree we choose. Some discussion between two in particular, but this one was a winner.
Obligatory family photo where no one looks at the camera at the same time. Hey, it's in the contract.

Facepaint

At Rachel's pre-school, one of the teacher's really enjoys facepainting. So she regularly comes home with all kinds of interesting faces. On this particular day she was a cat.

She looks ferocious, non? And purple is her favourite colour these days.

Decorating the tree

Elliot and Rachel helped decorate the tree at Nana and Papa's house. Elliot was quite taken with some of the decorations.

Cooking up a storm

In the little kitchen. I had ice cream tea served to me.
Simon got in on the action too. He liked rolling out the play-doh.

Rachel has a picnic

They had a little exhibit where the kids could pretend to have a picnic.
Look out Anne of Green Gables!

Rachel's field trip to the museum

Rachel recently went on a field trip to the Museum with her daycare. I think the most exciting part for the kids was riding the yellow school bus.
We hung out with Simon who was our buddy for the morning.
Here is Rachel trying out a tuk-tuk.

What is a birthday without a few cupcakes?

Especially if they include jelly beans and blue icing for that extra sugar rush!
Attractive, non?
Look at me! I am going to run my hands all up and down your walls! Bwah-ha-ha-ha!

Elliot's second birthday

Elliot opening a few gifts for his second birthday. We went to the House of Swish for the actual birthday day with Nana and Papa.
Rachel demonstrates how to show the number two.
Elliot shows off his new Senator's jersey and snow shovel.
We had a lovely time with Nana and Papa. And we have two wiggly children to prove it.

So you think you can sing?

We had a visit from our good friend Alistair in November and it lead to an impromtu sing-a-long.

Wagon ride

While we were at the Landsdowne Market we went on a wagon ride.
These were the same horses that were at the Maple syrup shack we went to in February.
We thought we would say hello.

To the market we go tra-la!

We visited the Landsdowne market in November with our friends from the Beaches. They kindly bought us some cookies. Rachel and Elliot seemed particularly taken with the purple cauliflower and wooden snowmen (or "snewmen" as Elliot calls them) Some very fine bison stew was had by all.
Hugs all-around!

Nana witch!

Here's Nana at the door, waiting to greet the kids. She's dressed as a scary witch. She dressed the same at the school that day too - do you think she scared the high school kids?

A Haunting we will go...

Papa came out trick or treating this year with us, while Nana stayed at the house and manned the door and handed out treats. Papa brought his special hat with him.
Here we are, ready to scare up some treats!
Our house decorated with pumpkins. Scary stuff!
